A member of the Panera family needs our help. Terri Pope, a shift supervisor here at Morehead City and our friend, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and has had to undergo 6 rounds of chemo treatments. Her latest PET scan has shown significant improvement and now she is waiting to see what the next step in treatment will be.

Terri and her family were totally blindsided by this illness. Her husband, Wayne, is a truck driver and is on the road most of the time and her son is taking care of her while her husband is away. Because her husband is the only one making money, her financial situation is in dire straits. She is now worried about not having the money to even pay for her medical insurance. This is the last thing that should be on her mind right now.

We are having a fundraising auction here at Panera Bread on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 6 pm. Panera Bread will close at 3 pm to get ready for the event. Everyone is invited to help us raise money for Terri and her family. Food and wine will be provided and cash and checks will gladly be accepted. We are asking that anyone who attends the auction bring an item to donate to auction off. Anything will help- whether it be gift certificates, products, services or food. Please RSVP to any manager at Panera Bread by March 1. The phone number at the café is 222-4990 or just stop in and let us know.

If you cannot attend and would still like to help, we are collecting cash and checks at the café. Any checks can be made out to the Terri Pope Fundraising Account.
