Meet The Staff
Duane Reynolds
Executive Director

|
Duane began his career with the Boys & Girls Clubs in 1998, when he was hired as the Program Director for the Beaufort Club. Later became the Club Director in Beaufort then the Director of Operations and currently serves as our Executive Director. He entered the US Marine Corps directly out of High School and served on active duty for 10 years. He received 2 meritorious promotions to Lance Corporal and Corporal and was promoted to Staff Sergeant before his honorable discharge in 1991. He is originally from Grand Rapids MI, where he grew up as the oldest of three children. He is married to his amazing wife Sharon, of 25 years. They have three children, Kevin who has his own lovely wife Candace and granddaughter Mackenzie, Stephanie is a graduate from college and Alicia attends Havelock High and will graduate in 2012. He loves traveling to visit his grand-baby and spending time with the family. He is very involved with his local church and tries to allow the love of Christ to show in all he does. He is always up for a good game of basketball and he is the Scrabble Champion of the house, but don’t tell his wife. |
Cynthia Barber
Director of Marketing and Special Events

Cynthia joined the staff as the Marketing and Special Events Director after two years of being the tournament director for the Barta Boys and Girls Club Billfish Tournament. She has been on the staff for 5 years. She has her B.A. from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (GO HEELS) Originally from Pa, then Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Atlanta and Atlantic Beach. She has worked as the Marketing Director with Burroughs Wellcome Co. (Sudafed, Neosporin, Actifed), moved to Atlanta to become Marketing Director with Nabisco Foods for Wal*Mart, K-Mart and Target finished her career with Nabisco as National Account Manager for Kmart. She moved to Atlantic Beach and started working as the tournament director for Barta Boys and Girls Club Billfish Tournament. She is married to David Barber and has two cats. She enjoys traveling, boating, fishing and raising money for the Boys & Girls Clubs. |
Gerrod Green
Club Director

Gerrod joined the movement as the Havelock club director October 27th 2007; this is his only background with the Boys & Girls Club. As a youth growing up in Baltimore, Maryland he would have loved to have had a club near his home to attend because he can see the difference the club makes in the lives of our kids every-day. Prior to joining the Boys & Girls Club, Gerrod served as a Marine for 27 years; He retired from the Marine Corps in August 2006 as a Master Sergeant, and currently calls Havelock his home. |
Patrick Kelly
Director of Juvenile Services & Beaufort Club

Patrick joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Coastal Carolina in March of 2009 after leaving the woods of Eastern NC, where he worked as a counselor for Eckerd Youth Alternatives. He came on board as the Structured Day Program Coordinator where he was able to design a new program for Carteret County until he was given the opportunity to run another program.
Patrick has his B.S. in Recreation Management from Appalachian State University. GO APPS!!!! This is where he first started to work with youth as a caving and hiking guide.
Patrick was born in NJ and moved to NC with his parents at the age of 5. He grew up around the Charlotte area but has lived from the Mountains to the Sea. He enjoys being outside riding his bike, playing ultimate Frisbee and fishing on his boat. His favorite thing about his career is the ability to change lives everyday! |
Jodie Willis
Structured Day Program Coordinator

Jodie was fortunate enough to start her career at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Coastal Carolina as an Intern during the Summer of 2009.During those three months, she discovered how much she really loves working with the youth of Carteret County.After the completion of her internship, she was lucky enough to be hired as the Structured Day Student Coordinator.In January 2010, she was promoted to Program Coordinator for the Day Program. Jodie graduated from West Carteret High School in 2004. She received her Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University in 2009.
Jodie was born and raised in Carteret County. She enjoys hanging out with friends and loved ones, discovering new places, and grasping onto any new opportunity that comes her way.
Jodie’s absolute favorite activity to do is Snorkel and/ or Scuba Dive, which she found out during a recent visit to Hawaii. |
